Where the main characters of 'Rebels' are by the events of 'A New Hope'

Are Ahsoka Tano, Kanan and Ezra already dead by Episode IV?

The fourth and final season of “Star Wars: Rebels” revealed what the status of Ahsoka Tano, Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger, along with the rest of the main cast is by “Star Wars: A New Hope.”

Spoilers ahead for season four of “Rebels.”

In “Rebels” season four, during the Liberation of Lothal, Kanan Jarrus died on Lothal, sacrificing himself to save his friends by holding back an explosion of caused by Lothal Gov. Arihnda Pryce ordering her troops to fire at a fuel pod, destroying the fuel depot.


Ahsoka Tano and the rest of the Ghost crew are alive throughout the entirety of the original trilogy. Gen. Hera Syndulla is called for during “Rogue One” over an intercom, and Chopper and the Ghost ship are seen. Hera fights with the Rebellion during the Battle of Endor. Sometime after the Liberation of Lothal and before the war’s end she has a child named Jacen Syndulla.

Garazeb Orrelios, Zeb, traveled to Lira San with Kallus after the Galactic Civil War to live with the Lasat people.

Ezra is presumed to be alive after disappearing during the Liberation of Lothal. Ezra is on Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Star Destroyer when it is pulled into hyperspace to an unknown location by the purrgil.

Ahsoka’s whereabouts during the original trilogy are currently unknown, but at the end of “Rebels,” which takes place after “Return of the Jedi,” she appears as she and Sabine Wren are departing to search for Ezra.

Of the Ghost crew, Kanan is the only one to have died before “A New Hope.”
